About us
Welcome to Asheville Robotics! Founded with a vision to empower students with the tools and knowledge to excel in any field, we’re proud to offer dynamic robotics programs for students across Asheville.
We believe in inclusivity and accessibility. That’s why our doors are open to all students in grades K-12, regardless of their school affiliation. Our mission is clear: to equip the next generation with essential skills that transcend traditional boundaries. Whether it’s engineering, business, or any other career path, we’re here to support and guide our students every step of the way.
Our Teams
Our FIRST Tech team Limelight was our first team to compete in 2023. They took four awards home including Judge’s Choice at States! We are also starting a FIRST Lego League Team for the 2024/2025 season.
What is FIRST?
FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a global organization dedicated to inspiring young people to explore the world of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through hands-on robotics challenges and competitions. Founded by inventor Dean Kamen, FIRST offers a progression of programs designed to engage students of all ages and skill levels.
At Asheville Robotics, we proudly participate in FIRST programs, including the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and the FIRST LEGO League (FLL). These programs provide students with opportunities to design, build, and program robots to compete in exciting challenges that test their creativity, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork skills.
